This year beginning in May the Village of Homer will have a summer water program to assist those who would like to water their yards or use large amounts of water for pools. This program will allow residents to connect a meter to an outside faucet and monitor water used for outdoor purposes and refund the sewer cost at the end of the summer season. Meters will be available for a $50 deposit. If you would like more information on the program please contact Sharon Jeffers at the Village office at 896-2521.

The minimum sewer rate per resident will be increasing from $35 to $36 this year. This increase will be reflected on your May bill. The increase is needed to pay the debt on the new sanitary sewer system. The village is gradually increasing the minimum payment to cover the repayment of the loans.

There are several events coming to Homer this year. On May 31st the Homer Soda Festival will return with food, soda tasting, music, and vendors. On June 10th the Merriweather Circus is coming to town!

Our traditional July 4th celebration and parade are planned. There are many activities coming to Homer so if you are interested in volunteering please contact the Village Office. We hope you all come out and support our local events.
